Assorted Project Dates 2019 - 2021
Models Presented - 1978 Bridgestone Kabuki Skyway
- 2001 Magna GlacierPoint
Model Design Quirks This 1978 Bridgestone Kabuki Skyway features a rare expanding quill seatpost (and so lacks a post clamp). The manufacturing process saw aluminum lugs molded onto the frame's tubes, which were too brittle to allow end clamps to be regularly used.
Other design quirks include the infamous suicide brake levers (discontinued due to safety hazards), the Mikashima steel half toe clips, the oversized 3-inch cateye reflectors, the clever clamping mechanism of the Pletscher Model C bike rack, and the drillium-style weight-saving holes on the front derailleur and larger freewheel sprockets.
